Matthew 26:57-67

After Jesus was arrested in Gethsemane, He was brought before the high priest, Caiaphas.

All the scribes and elders of the people of Israel had gathered there. Peter followed Jesus at a distance.

He entered the high priest’s courtyard and sat down with the servants there.

The chief priest, the elders and the council were looking for excuses to accuse Jesus so that they can kill Him but they couldn’t find any.

Finally, two witnesses came up and said, “Jesus said,’ Tear down this temple and I will rebuild it in 3 days.’”

The high priest said to Jesus, “Don’t you have anything to say to defend yourself?”

Jesus kept quiet and said nothing.

Then the high priest said, “I am putting you under an oath. Are you the Christ, the son of God?”

Jesus said, “It is as you said. I am the Son of God. After this, you will see me sitting at the right hand side of God and seeing him coming on the clouds of heaven.”

The high priest tore his clothes, “He had expressed disrespect to God by claiming He is the Son of God. We don’t need any more witness. What should we do to Him now?”

The crowd answered, “He deserves death.”

Then the people spat on Jesus’ face, beat Him up and slapped Him with their palms, saying, “Prophesy, who hit you?”

Matthew 14:22-33; Mark 6:45-51

One day, after Jesus was with the crowd for the whole day and sent them away, He made his disciples got into a boat to go to the other side to Bethsaida. Then Jesus climbed up to a mountain and pray by himself.

At evening, the boat was at the middle of the lake. Jesus saw His disciples were straining at rowing the boat because the wind was blowing against the direction where the boat is going.

At midnight four o’clock, Jesus decided to walk over the lake to reach the other side. He was about to passed by his disciples when they saw Him.

The disciples were shocked. They thought that a ghost was walking on the water. They grew afraid and cried out.

But Jesus came walking on the water to them and said, “Don’t be afraid. It is Me.”

When Peter saw it is Jesus, he said to Him, “Master, if it is you, tell me to come to you.”

So Jesus said, “Come.” Peter came out of the boat and began to walk on the water towards Jesus. When Peter saw the strong winds that are blowing so hard, he was afraid and he began to sink in the water. Peter cried out,”Lord, save me!”

Jesus held out his hand and caught Peter up.

Then Jesus said to Peter,”You of little faith, why do you doubt?”

After that, Jesus and Peter got into the boat and the wind stopped blowing against them. His disciples were amazed and marveled at each other.

Blind Bartimaeus Mark 10:46-52

Mark 10:46-52

As Jesus was going into Jericho, a noisy crowd followed Him.

When a blind beggar called Bartimaeus who was sitting by the roadside heard all the noises that the people were making, he asked the people what was the commotion all about.

The people told him that Jesus of Nazareth had came to Jericho.

When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was passing by Jericho, he shouted, “Lord Jesus, please have pity on me!”

The people heard Bartimaeus and told him to keep quiet. But Bartimaeus don’t care about the people, he shouted to Jesus louder, “Lord Jesus, please have pity on me!”

Jesus had compassion on Bartimaeus and asked that he be brought to Him.

The people called Bartimaeus and said to him, “Cheer up. Get up now. Jesus is calling for you.”

Bartimaeus quickly throw away his garment to a side and got up and came to Jesus.

Jesus asked Bartimaeus,”What do you want me to do for you?”

Bartimaeus said, “I want to see again.” Jesus said to him, “Your eye sight is restored. Your faith has made you well.”

At that very moment, Bartimaeus’ eyes were healed and he can see again.

Bartimaeus was very happy and immediately he followed Jesus. When the people saw that Jesus healed Bartimaeus, they gave thanks to God for it.

The blind man, Bartimaeus was healed because he believed that Jesus has the power to help him to recover his eye sight and so he asked Jesus to heal him.

Bartimaeus acted in faith and therefore his eyes were healed. Jericho was a place that was under the curse of Joshua, but Jesus still performs miracles at that place.

Luke 24:28-49

It happened that two disciples of Jesus were on their way to Emmaus.

On the way, they discussed about all the things that had happened to Jesus and asked questions among themselves.

While they were still talking, Jesus appeared and walked along with them. The disciples couldn’t recognize Jesus and so they didn’t notice him.

Jesus said to them, “What are you both talking about?”

They replied, “We were discussing about all the things which happened to Jesus of Nazareth who was a great prophet before God and mighty in deeds and how the chief priests and the people sentenced Him to death and crucified Him on the cross. We are hoping that He is the Savior who will redeem our sins. Some of the women among us went to the tomb and did not find the body of Jesus there. They saw a host of angels who told them that Jesus is already raised from the dead.”

Then Jesus said to them, “Why are you so slow to believe? Didn’t Moses and all the prophets already explain it in the Scripture that Jesus Christ, the son of God will be crucified on the cross and raised on the third day.”

Jesus pointed out the scriptures and explained to them. Then He left them.

At evening on the same day, when all the doors were shut, Jesus suddenly appeared among the ten disciples.

He said to the disciples, “Peace be with you”. The disciples immediately recognize he is Jesus. At first, they have doubt.

But Jesus said, “Touch my hand and my feet. It is flesh and not spirit because a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones.”

The disciples touched Jesus hands and side. However, some of them still does not believe, so Jesus took a broiled fish and ate it before them.

At that time, Thomas was not among the disciples.

The other disciples said to Thomas, “We have seen the Lord Jesus Christ.” Thomas did not believe them.

He said, “Unless I put my finger through the nail wound on Jesus’ hand, I won’t believe.”

After eight days, the disciples were assembled inside the house again. All the doors were shut. All of a sudden, Jesus appeared among the eleven disciples. This time Thomas was there too.

Jesus said, “Peace to you!”

Then He said to Thomas, “Reach out your finger and put through the hole of the nail wound on my hand. Do not be doubtful and believe.”

Thomas put his finger through the nail wound of Jesus and he said, “I believe.”

Jesus said to him, “Blessed are the one who have never seen and yet believe.”

Exodus 14

Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt with great victory. When the Israelites leave Egypt, they plundered the Egyptians of their silver and gold.

After Moses and the Israelites had left Egypt, Pharaoh suddenly hold back. Pharaoh took his soldier with him and chased after the Israelites.

When Pharaoh caught up with the Israelites, they were camped before the Red Sea.

The Israelites were afraid that the Egyptians attack them and they complained to Moses.

Moses cried out to the Lord. The Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the Red Sea so that it will be parted and form a passage for the people to go through.”

Moses stretched out his staff over the Red Sea and Red Sea parted into two walls of waters on the left and right.

It forms a passage of dry ground for the Israelites to cross to the other side. And the Israelites hurry across the passage to the other side.

An angel of God who went with the Israelites sent darkness to the Egyptians on one side but light to the Israelites.

When the morning came, the Lord saw the Egyptians were pursuing the Israelites and he made them drive with difficulty by taking off the wheels of their chariots.

The Egyptians pursued the Israelites into the midst of the sea.

After all the Israelites had safely crossed the sea to the other side, Moses stretched his hand over the Red Sea again.

The water of the sea covered the dry ground and drowned all the soldiers of Pharaoh.

Jesus and the Woman Taken in Adultery

October 11, 2013 by Admin-FSN Leave a Comment

jesusandthewomantakeninadultery

One morning, Jesus went into the temple as usual. Jesus sat down and began to teach the people who came to Him. Then the Pharisees brought a woman that had committed adultery to Him.

They said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman had slept with another man and committed adultery. According to the Law of Moses, we must have this woman stoned to death. But what do you say we should do?”

They said this to Jesus because they want to test Him.

Jesus was writing on the ground with His finger and He didn’t care about what He said to Him.

When they keep asking Jesus the same question, Jesus finally lifted up his head and said to them, “If anyone of you never sin before, you can stone the woman first.” Then Jesus continued to write on the ground.

The Pharisees were guilty of their sins and they left Jesus one by one beginning with the oldest to the youngest ones.

When Jesus saw that everyone had left, He said to the woman who was taken in adultery, “Where are the people that accused you? Didn’t anyone condemn you?”

The woman who was taken in adultery replied, “Everyone had left. No one had condemned me.”

Then Jesus said, “Your sins had been forgiven. Go now and don’t sin anymore.”

Jesus spoke to the people and say, “I am the light of the world. Whoever that follows Me will have eternal life.”

When the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him, “You bear testimony to your own words therefore it is not true.”

Jesus answered, “Even if I testify against what I say, my testimony came from God. I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no ideas where I came from and where I am going. My judgment is true because it comes from the Father in heaven. Your law also has written that if two men bear testimony then it is true. I bear witness for myself and the Father who sent me bears my witness.”

Then they said to Jesus, “Who is your Father?”

Jesus answered, “You don’t know my Father because you don’t know me. If you know me, then you will know My Father.”

Jesus said these while he was at the treasury but no one do anything to Jesus because it was not yet the right time for Jesus to be arrested.
