Fiery Furnace Bible Story

September 29, 2012 by Admin-FSN 2 Comments

One day, King Nebuchadnezzar set up a huge golden statue and ordered every official to bow down to the statue.

Then an official announced, “Every nation of the kingdom of Babylon must bow down and worship the golden statue that King Nebuchadnezzar made with trumpets, flutes, harps and other music instruments. Anyone who refuses to obey this command will be thrown into the hot furnace.”

Everyone obeyed the command and came to bow down and worship the giant golden statue that King Nebuchadnezzar made except Daniel and his three friends, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego.

Some Babylonians were jealous of Daniel’s three friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and used this opportunity to report them to King Nebuchadnezzar.

When King Nebuchadnezzar found out that Daniel’s three friends did not bow down to the idol, his countenance was twisted with anger.

King Nebuchadnezzar ordered his strongest soldiers to tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and throw them into the hot furnace.

The fire was so hot and flames came out of the fire and burned the soldiers to death.

All of the sudden, King Nebuchadnezzar jumped and shouted, “Weren’t only three men tied up and thrown into the fire? Why did I see four men in the furnace untied? The fourth man looks like a God.”

Then King Nebuchadnezzar commanded, “You servants of God Almighty come out of the fire at once!”

So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire. They were unharmed. Their hair was not burned at all. Their clothes don’t smell like smoke.

King Nebuchadnezzar marveled that the three young men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego escaped the fiery furnace.

After this, he promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to even higher positions in Babylonia.

King Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream

September 29, 2012 by Admin-FSN 2 Comments

King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream. He couldn’t understand the meanings of his dream so he called in all the wise man and magicians to interpret the dream for him.

The wise men and magicians went to King Nebuchadnezzar.

They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “Your Majesty, please tell us your dream so that we can interpret the dream for you.”

King Nebuchadnezzar answered, “No! I won’t tell you my dream. You must tell me what I dreamed together with its meaning or I will chopped you into pieces and destroy your house,”

The wise men and the magicians said, “Your Majesty, This is impossible! If you don’t tell us your dream, how can we interpret the dream for you?”

King Nebuchadnezzar answered, “You are making me very angry now! You know I will chop you into pieces and tear down your houses if you don’t come up with the answer! You know my dream but you all had plot against me and come up with these lies instead.”

Then King Nebuchadnezzar ordered that all the wise men in Babylonia including Daniel and his three friends be put to death.

Arioch was on his way to put the wise men to death when Daniel approached him and asked, “Why King Nebuchadnezzar gave such a cruel command?”

Then Daniel returned to tell his three friends to pray to God so that He will tell them the dream and give them the answer to the dream.

One night, God gave Daniel a vision of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and its meaning. Daniel praised and thanked God.

Daniel went to Arioch and told him, “Don’t kill the wise men. Take me to the king and I will explain the dream to him.”

Then Arioch rushed Daniel to King Nebuchadnezzar.

Daniel said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “Your Majesty, not even the wisest person can give you what you demand. However, God had showed me your dream and its meaning.

In your dream, you saw a huge statue standing in front of you. The head of the statue is made of gold whereas its arms and chest are made of silver.

The area below the waist to the knees of the statue is bronze. From the knees to the ankles, the statue is made of iron and clay.

A stone was hewn from the mountain not by human hand. Then the stone strike the area from the knees to the ankles and it was shattered.

The gold, silver, and bronze were blown away as well without a trace. But the stone became a very giant mountain that extends to the whole earth.

Your Majesty, God is telling you that you are highly honored over all human and beasts. You represent the gold.

After you have passed away, another kingdom will conquer your kingdom. This kingdom represents the silver and it won’t be as strong as your kingdom now.

After this, another kingdom will come. This kingdom represents the bronze.

Finally, another kingdom which is the result of two marriages between two kingdoms will come but it won’t be strong and will crush just as clay and iron don’t mix together.

At the time of these kings, God will set up an eternal kingdom which will last forever. This eternal kingdom represents the stone cut from the mountain.”

King Nebuchadnezzar was pleased with the dream interpretation that Daniel gave him.

He gave lots of gifts to Daniel and promoted him to become the governor of Babylon Province.

King Nebuchadnezzar also promoted Daniel and his 3 friends, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego to high officials in the province of Babylon because Daniel requested this to him.

September 29, 2012 by Admin-FSN 2 Comments

Daniel is a faithful believer of God. He only eats and drinks what God approved. So Daniel asked the permission of the guard in charged of them to let them not to eat the meat and drink the wine that they had prepared for them.

Daniel said to the guard, “Let us only have vegetables and water for 10 days. After 10 days, you can compare us to the other young men.” The guard agreed with Daniel.

After 10 days, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah were healthier and smarter than the other young men who ate the food and wine from the royal palace.

God made Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah very smart. They read a lot of books and become very clever. Daniel can also interpret dreams.

Job Bible Story

September 29, 2012 by Admin-FSN Leave a Comment

There was a man whose name is called Job in Uz. Job is the richest man in the East. Job had seven sons and seven daughters.

Job had 7000 sheep, 3000 camels, 500 ox, 500 donkeys, and many servants.

Job’s sons always have parties at home. When they have party at their house, they would invite their sisters.

Then in the morning, Job would send them to perform a ceremony so that God will forgive them any sins that they had committed while at the party.

One day, the angels come together before God. Satan was there with them.

God asked Satan, “Satan, where have you been?”

Satan answered, “I have been roaming around the earth.”

God asked Satan. “What do you think of Job?”

Satan answered, “Of course he still put his faith in you. You keep protecting him and his family. You let him succeed in all that he do and his livestock can be seen everywhere. Take away everything that he has and he will curse you.”

God said, “Satan, you can do anything to Job but don’t harm Job.”
Then, Satan left God’s presence.

Job’s sons and daughters were having party at the house of their eldest brother when a servant ran up to Job and said, “A gang of Sabeans had stolen your oxen and donkeys while your servants are plowing the field.”

A second servant rushed up to Job and said, “God sent down fire and it has burn away all the sheep and servants.”

Before the second servant finished speaking, a third servant dashed up to Job, saying, “Three gangs of Chaldeans had stolen all your camels. All your servants are dead except me.”

The servant is still speaking, when a fourth servant came running up to Job, saying, “Your children were having party at the house when a windstorm came destroy the house and everything in it. I am the only one that escaped alive.”

Job felt very sad that he had lost everything he has. Nevertheless, Job didn’t sin against God by cursing Him.

The angels come together before God again and Satan was there with them.

God asked Satan, “Satan, where have you been?”

Satan answered, “I have been roaming around the earth.”

God said to Satan, “Satan, what do you think about my servant, Job?”

Satan answered, “People will do anything to stay alive. Try taking away Job’s health and he will curse you to your face.”

God said to Satan, “All right! Go and make Job suffer as much as you want but you cannot take away his life.”

Satan left the presence of God and caused painful sores to break out everywhere on Job’s body.

While Job was scratching his sores with a broken pottery, Job’s wife said to him, “Why do you still trust God? Why don’t you curse Him!”

Job answered, “Don’t talk nonsense! If we accept God’s blessing, we also have to accept problems.”

While Job was facing these problems, his three friends came to visit him.

Job’s friends argued with him back and forth that God must be punishing him so that all these calamities have befallen on him.

Finally, Job’s friends gave up arguing with him. Job realize that human don’t have the answers to the question in life.

Job swore that he is innocent and never commit any sin that all these calamities had befallen on him.

Job asked God why does all these bad things are happening to him. God did appear to Job but he didn’t explain to him why he was suffering from all these things.

God showed Job that there are many things that human cannot understand; only God understands.

God criticized Job for talking so much when he knows so little.  But God also said that Job is His faithful servant even though after he had loses everything including his health.

Job didn’t curse God even though he loses his children, properties and health. In the end, God blessed Job by doubling what he used to have. God gave Job 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 ox, and 1,000 donkeys.

Jezebel Bible Story

September 29, 2012 by Admin-FSN Leave a Comment

Jehu entered into Jezreel and made his way to Jezebel. When Jezebel heard that Jehu is coming, she put shadows on her eyes and decorated her head.

Jezebel looked out from her window and said, “Jehu, you murderer, is this a friendly visit?”

Jehu looked above at Jezebel and said, “Is anyone on my side?”

A few eunuchs put their head out of the window to Jehu. Jehu said, “Throw Jezebel out from her window.”

They listened to Jehu. They threw Jezebel out of the window and Jezebel’s blood splattered against the walls and horses.

Jehu went in and ate and drank. After that, Jehu said, “Go and see the corpse of the cursed woman, Jezebel and bury her because she is the daughter of a king.”

They went to bury the corpse of Jezebel but when they arrive, the dog had already eaten most of her flesh and only the skull and feet and palms are left.

Thus what God had said through Elijah the prophet came true that the flesh of Jezebel will be eaten by the dogs at Jezreel.

Jezebel is a fiercely independent woman who does not like to submit to anyone. Jezebel would pretend to be submissive when she wants to gain something. Jezebel will never humble herself to anyone.

Jezebel’s spirit is a spirit of witchcraft and hatred of man’s dominion authority.

Jezebel led the people of Israel astray to worship idols and commit immorality and eat foods that offered as sacrifices to the idols.

There is only one way to win the war against the spirit of Jezebel that is we must transformed ourselves to become more and more like Christ.

Story of Jehu

September 29, 2012 by Admin-FSN 1 Comment

Ahab has seventy sons that lives in Samaria. Jehu wrote a letter to Samaria, saying, “If Ahab’s sons are with you now, get them ready to fight with me.”

When the people receive the message, they says to one another, “If King Joram and King Ahaziah couldn’t fight over Jehu, then how can we?”

The people replied Jehu’s message, “Tell us what you want us to do and we will obey you.”

Jehu sent another message, saying, “If you are for me, then chopped off the head of Ahab’s seventy sons and meet me at Jezreel at this time tomorrow.”

The people obeyed Jehu. They chopped off the head of Ahab’s seventy sons and put them in a basket. After that they sent it to Jezreel.

When the messenger came and told him that the people had killed all the king’s sons, Jehu says, “Put the heads of Ahab’s seventy sons in two heaps.”

The heads of Ahab’s seventy sons were laid in two heaps. Then Jehu stood in front of the people and he said, “You are good and have stand on my side. But the Lord commanded me to kill everyone in the household of Ahab in Jezreel therefore I will have to kill all of you as well.”

Jehu took his sword and killed everyone else left in the house of Ahab in Jezreel including Ahab’s friends, priests and his brave warriors.

After that, Jehu set out to Samaria. While he was there, Jehu met with King Ahaziah’s brothers and he asked them, “Who are you?”

They replied, “We are the brothers of King Ahaziah.” So Jehu commanded his army, “Kill them now.” So Jehu’s army killed all forty two brothers of King Ahaziah at the well of Beth Eked.

Afterward, Jehu departed the place. On his way, he met Jehonadab and Jehonadab joined him in his chariot. Together, Jehu and Jehonadab went to Samaria and kill everyone else remained in the household of Ahab.

Then Jehu announced to the people, “King Ahab worship Baal a little but I worship Baal a lot. Gather everyone in Israel in the temple of Baal because I am going to offer a sacrifice to Baal. If anyone does not want to attend this sacred assembly, I will kill him.”

Jehu made this announcement because he already made plans to kill the believers of Baal.

The people of Israel who are worshippers of Baal assembled at the temple of Baal and Jehu made them wear a different vestment to mark them as Baal worshippers.

Jehu appointed 80 guards outside the temple of Baal so that whoever that tries to escape out of the temple will be killed.

After Jehu had offered the sacrifice at Baal’s temple, he said to the guards, “Go into the temple and kill all the Baal worshippers. Make sure no one escape.”

The guards took their swords and killed every Baal worshippers that wear the vest in the temple. After that they brought out the sacred pillars of Baal and burned them.

They also tore down the temple of Baal into rubble and it remains until today.

However, Jehu fell into the same sin of King Jeroboam by worshipping the golden calf.

The Lord says to Jehu, “You have obeyed me and kill everyone in King Ahab’s household. Therefore, I will let your sons be king of Israel until the fourth generation.”
