Jesus Heals a Man by the Pool of Bethesda John 5:2-8

John 5:1-15

There was a great feast at Jerusalem. Jesus went down to Jerusalem because he wanted to celebrate the feast.

There was a pool at Bethesda that had five porches. It was said that if anyone who is sick can have a dip in the pool when the angel stir the water, all his infirmity will leave him.

So every day, many sick people including the lame, blind and paralyzed will be brought to lie beside the pool of Bethesda so that at least when the water is stirred, they have a chance to be dip in the pool and get healed.

There was a paralyzed man who had been at the pool of Bethesda for 38 years.

When Jesus saw him lying down at the floor, Jesus said, “Get up. Pick up your mat and walk home.”

The man instantly found himself well and can walk. He picked up his mat and went home.

The day that Jesus healed the paralyzed man was the Sabbath day.

The Jewish leaders said to the man, “Today is the Sabbath. You are not allowed to work. You cannot carry your mat.”

The man answered, “But the man who healed me, said to me,’Pick up your mat and walk.’”

Then they asked him, “What is the name of the man who healed you and say to you,’ Pick up your mat and walk.’”

The man answered, “I don’t know.”

The man didn’t know it was Jesus who healed him because Jesus disappeared into the crowd as soon as a multitude noticed Him.

After that, Jesus found him at the temple. He said to him, “You are healed now. Don’t go sinning again or something worst will happen to you.”

The man promised Jesus that he won’t sinned anymore. Then he left Jesus and he told everyone that it was Jesus who healed him.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep for Children

John 10:1-30; Matthew 18:10-14

Jesus said to the people, “If a shepherd has one hundred sheep and one of them is lost, he will certainly abandon the ninety nine sheep and go to search for the one lost sheep.

It is likewise with the kingdom of God. The Father is also not willing that any of His children should be lost and go astray to the world. God wants everyone to go to heaven.

The sheep that does not enter by the sheep pen’s door is a thief. The thief enters the ship pen by climbing over its gate.

Whoever that enters by the sheep pen’s door is my sheep.

When the good shepherd calls the name of his sheep, his sheep recognize its shepherd’s voice and responds to him.

When the shepherds bring out his sheep, and walk in front of them to lead them, the sheep will follow the shepherd because they know him.

The sheep will never follow a stranger because he does not recognize the voice of the strangers.

I am the sheep pen’s door and all my sheep that goes through Me will be saved.

If anyone enters through me, he will find a lot of green pasture to eat so that he will never be hungry.

The thief does not go through Me. The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. I have come to give life to the world.

I am a good shepherd that will look after my sheep.

A shepherd that is being hired and paid for will run to save his own life if he saw wolves coming to attack the sheep flock.

I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep name by name. My sheep also knows me too. I will lay down my life to save my sheep.

My Father loves me because I am willing to die for my sheep. No one force me to lay down my life but I lay down my life because I want to.”

When the people heard what Jesus said, they said, “He is a mad man. He has an evil spirit. That is why He is saying these things. So why should you trust him in the things he says?”

jesusresurrectionstory

Matthew 27:57 – Matthew 28:8

On Saturday, which is the day before Sabbath, Sunday, the scribes and the Pharisees went to Pilate and said to him, “We remembered that Jesus said He will rose from the dead on the third day. Therefore, please send guards to Jesus’ tomb to make sure that it is sealed.”

Pilate answered, “You have my permission. Go and make the tomb as secure as you want and set guards over it.”

So the scribes and the Pharisees sealed the stones on the tomb of Jesus and set guards over the tomb to guard it.

On Monday morning, Jesus’ mother, Mary and Mary Magdalene, brought some spices with them to Jesus’ tomb to embalm His body.

When they arrived at the tomb, a violent earthquake shook the earth.

An angel with a lightning countenance and wearing shinning white clothes appeared.

When the guards saw the angel, they were shaking and very frightened like a dead person.

The angel said to Jesus’ mother, Mary and Mary Magdalene, “I know that you are looking for Jesus. Jesus is not here. He is resurrected from the dead. See, the tomb where Jesus’ body is laid is empty. Now, go and tell His disciples that Jesus is resurrected from the dead and that He had went ahead before all of you to Galilee.”

Jesus’ mother, Mary and Mary Magdalene were very frightened yet very happy.

They went out immediately from the angel’s presence and told His disciples the good news that Jesus had been resurrected from the dead.

Acts 5:1-11

Ananias and Sapphira had sold a piece of their possession so that they could offer it to the Lord. But Ananias and Sapphira held back and kept part of the money they got from selling the possessions.

Ananias brought some of the money and came to lay it down before the apostles as an offering to the Lord.

But Peter said, “Ananias, why did you lie to the Holy Spirit? Why did you hold back some of the money from the possession you sold? You are not lying to men but to God.”

After Ananias heard Peter said these words, he fell down and died. The young men came and wrapped his body with a cloth. Then they carried him out and buried him.

After three hours, Ananias’ wife, Sapphira, who was not aware of what had happened to his husband, entered the place.

Peter asked Sapphira,”Tell me is this the price that you had sold the possession for?”

Sapphira answered, “Yes, this is the full price that the possession was sold for.”

Then Peter said, “How both you, and your husband test the Holy Spirit? See for yourself, the young men that carried your husband out from here to be buried are already here and they will carry you out too.”

Sapphira immediately fell down on the floor and died. The young men that came in found Sapphira was dead. They carried her out and buried her beside her husband, Ananias.

Fear came upon everyone at the church and all who had heard about it.

Jesus Turned Water into Wine

John 2:1-12

There was a wedding in Cana. Jesus, His disciples and His mother, Mary were all invited to the wedding. There were many people that attended the wedding in Cana.

The guests kept on drinking the wine and finally no more wine is left. Jesus’ mother, Mary came to Jesus and said, “There is no more wine left for anyone anymore.”

Jesus replied, “Why did you bother me since it is not yet the right time for me to perform the miracle?”

Jesus’ mother said to the servants, “Do whatever He tells you to do.”

There were six large stone water pots outside. Each stone water pot can hold up to twenty to thirty gallons of water.

The stone water pots were used to be filled with water so that the Jews can perform their religious duty and wash themselves.

Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the six large water pots outside with water up to its brim.”

The servants did according to what Jesus had told them. They filled the six large stone water pots with water.

Then Jesus said, “Bring some water out now and give it to the master of the feast.”

The servants took some water out of the water pots and brought them to the master of the feast.

The master of the feast tasted the wine and realized that the wine tastes very good but he don’t know where it came from.

Then the master of the feast said to the bridegroom,” Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now” (King James Version. John 2:10)

This is the first miracle that Jesus performed which is at the wedding banquet in Cana. It manifested His glory and His disciples put their faith in Him.
